The following is a recommended reading list that I have prepared for those interested in learning more about thermography. It is not a complete list, but does cover the books that I refer to most. Feel free to add your favorite book below.
The Infrared Handbook, by Wolfe & Zissis. For the more experienced thermographer, with a high level of technical knowledge. Not really a “handbook” though, it is very big. The book went out of print many years ago, but it is worth looking for a good second-hand copy.
Common sense approach to thermal imaging by Gerald C. Holst A good general book on thermography, covers some details on various applications.
Practical Applications of Infrared Thermal Sensing and Imaging Equipment by Herbert Kaplan. A very well written book covering a lot of topics at a basic level.
ASNT Standard for Qualification and Certification of Nondestructive Testing Personnel by ASNT
Recommended Practice no SNT-TC1A by ASNT
Inframation Proceedings by ITC
